24 Ways To Bring Traffic to Your Website
The key to bringing in huge numbers of visitors to get the right amount of traffic
on your website to grow and prosper is good content. Good content brings traffic
to you at no cost, but sometimes you need a little boost to get your site kick
started so you may need to advertise in some fashion.
#1 Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising
Pay per click advertising is just that. You run an ad,
typically on a service like Google or Microsoft Ads,
and you set the amount that you will pay them for each click you receive. You
would set a maximum daily budget for your ads so that you don’t go over a
certain cost, and you set the price you will pay per click. Typically the bidding for
each keyword would start at five cents per click, but a lot of times you will need to
increase that number to get more traffic to your website.
You will want to start at a certain number, I recommend starting at six cents so
you are higher than the default settings that many websites will go with, and
increase it by five cents at a time until you get the perfect match of the right
number of website visitors while not going over the cost for the day that you are
comfortable in spending. When bringing traffic to your website, especially like in
the case where you are paying for that traffic like with pay per click advertising,
you need to give them a reason to be there, to stay there, to be interested in what
you are showing them.
#2 Search Engine Optimization
It’s important to think about the keywords that represent your niche to base your
content on. Typically, you’ll choose to focus on one or two main keywords per
webpage. Your keywords should be part of your heading tags, in the text on the
page, that particular page name, in some way shape or form. See our SEO
optimization techniques page for a more in depth article about search engine
optimization. Keywords are important as it helps search engines identify what
your page is about, and will come up in the search results when website visitors
search for your keywords, when your site climbs up in the rankings over time as
you add more and more content.
#3 Keep Your Website Content Up to Date
Content freshness is an SEO necessity. It’s important to remove any content that
is out of date, no longer relevant, or update the content so that it is accurate and
up to date. That may mean just a quick touch up, or adding new sections to your
content.
#4 Submit Your Site to Search Engines
As you build your site, it’s important to let the search engines know about you.
Some of the best search engines may find your website on their own, but many
need to be told where to find you.
For Google: Submit your site with their Search Console
For Bing and Yahoo: Submit your site with their Webmaster Tools
#5 Build out Your Backlinks
Backlinks are very important to show that your website is trustworthy and
relevant. Website Backlinks also give you extra ways to bring in traffic from other
relevant sites that have backlinks to your website. If you build high quality
relevant content in your niche, the backlinks tend to start to be build naturally as
other websites find your content and link to it to build out more useful content to
their website visitors. The more content you publish, the more backlinks will start
to appear.
You can also requets backlinks, or offer guest posting on their website that
includes a backlink to help build backlinks. Nevery buy backlinks as these are not
high ranking sites and are trying to trick search engines and your ranking will
suffer as a result by being lowered.
#6 Learn From Your Competitors
Take a look at and study how your competitors are ranking high in the search
results. Do not copy, do not take, but learn from what they are doing and create
your own. See where their traffic is coming from, look for what their backlinks are,
look at what types of content they are putting together that is giving them the
most website traffic. You can use tools like ahrefs to help you with this analysis.
This will show you a lot of information, including their tip ranked keywords as well
as their competitors, which will give you a larger list of competitors to take a look
at in your research.
#7 Optimize Your Website For Long Tail Keywords
Single word keywords are very hard to rank on as you are starting out in the
internet world with millions and millions of websites just like yours. Focusing on
the long tail keywords will give you the best chance at success until you build up
enough in relevance and traffic where short keywords will begin to work for you.
Long tail keywords are more specific, more targeted. For example a single
keyword of fishing will be hard to rank. If you tighten the focus and try to rank for
the long tail keywords “fishing for stripers”, that’s a more targeted search. There is
less competition out there for the long tail keyword instead of the main keyword
of fishing.
#8 Add New Website Content or Products Daily
One of the search engine ranking factors is how fresh the content is, by adding
content to your website daily this will serve two purposes. It will add more
content to your website, and it will show the search engines that your content is
fresh and up to date on a regular basis, increasing your relevance to their search
engine. We recommend trying to add content as close to each and every day as
you can make time for. As your website traffic counts increase, you can scale that
back a bit to not take up so much of your time. The more you build, the more
website traffic you will bring. The new content also gives your website visitors a
reason to come back and see what’s new.
#9 Provide Exclusive Content On Your Website
Take a look at your specific niche, and put together content that your website
visitors need. Try to solve a problem, make your content helpful, useful, and add
value to their web browsing experience. Start a forum, or website blog, maybe
even a put together a free course if that is relevant to your niche. Give your users
a way to subscribe so that you can communicate with them off page, to bring
them back to your website to see what they have been missing.
#10 Start a Podcast On Your Website
About half of Americans have listened to a podcast, and about a third listen to a
podcast each and every month. There is a very large audience for good Podcasts.
Starting a podcast can help you to build a large traffic source to your website.
Give them good content, that keeps them coming back, and your traffic will
organically grow tremendously. A podcast can build brand awareness. If you
transcribe your podcast, and post them both on your website, you can also add
great content on a regular basis.

them a reason to come back to visit your website to learn more.
#19 Setup a Twitter Business Profile
Twitter is another audience that you don’t want to miss out on with a large active
community base. Engage, tweet, and build relationships. Show your relevance.

hash tags.
